Organizational Leadership

  • Executive Leadership

Executive Team Experience: I’ve served on Executive Leadership Teams for the City of Tulsa and Tulsa Regional Chamber — establishing organizational policy and developing cultures of innovation, collaboration, and values-driven decision making. I built strong relationships with my peers in other departments to align our strategies, support one another’s goals, and build opportunities for personal and professional growth for our team members.

Performance Improvement: For both the City and Chamber, I led Baldrige Institute for Performance Excellence applications and process improvement strategies — earning both organizations Oklahoma Quality Foundation excellence awards.

  • Financial Leadership

Public Funds Stewardship: At the City of Tulsa, I oversaw a $1.3MM departmental budget and managed 38 capital projects totaling more than $510MM of Tulsa’s most significant public investments — navigating competitive bidding requirements, public financing laws, and budget challenges to deliver the best outcome for Tulsa residents.

Nonprofit Fiscal Management: I provided guidance to the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s $16MM annual budget as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, and managed a $1.5MM departmental budget.

Political Campaigns: I directly managed seven ballot initiatives for the city, county, and school district. These political campaigns required raising up to $1.7MM, balancing cashflow and expense challenges with numerous vendors, and meeting financial reporting requirements — often in under four months.

  • Cultural Leadership

Values-Based Teams: I work to build team culture grounded in values of innovation, collaboration, and perseverance. My team and I discussed strategic risk-taking as a critical component for innovative solutions, and when a member failed we focused on learning from it and incorporating lessons into future work.

Investing in Team Members: As part of annual reviews and goal-setting, I dedicated time and resources to develop personal and professional growth plans with each team member. These plans incorporated their personal interests and passions, as well as strategic opportunities for the organization and their future leadership here.

Focused on Equity and Justice: I ensure our decision-making is grounded in equity and justice — using systems-based resources like racial equity tools to ensure our solutions and programs are shaped by those closest to the problem, that we are most strongly supporting those most impacted, and that we check biases at every step. I focus on building and maintaining a high degree of trust, respect, and understanding with other staff members and community partners. And I lead with humility and curiosity, recognizing my social position requires a higher level of self-awareness and evidence of values alignment.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
